ms missy, lucy's dance teacher who was also my dance teacher, had the girls over to swim earlier this week! a couple of her grandkids were there & they had such a blast on this special morning-

we've been out & about, trying to stay dry and cool. midwestern summer storms are in full force this week-

GMom brought over a bag of supplies for the girls to make princess hats yesterday morning, while betsy and i ran quick errands. other than eloise immediately snatching the scissors in an attempt to clip off her curls, this was such a sweet & cherished memory, and the perfect addition to the dress-up closet :)

eloise's Godfather & his mom sewed eloise an orange blanket [it's her most favorite color, you know:)] how's that for the sweetest thing you've heard today?!

& last night was one lucy has been looking forward to for months! the national tour of beauty and the beast is at starlight this week & we got tickets for opening night this past spring. lucy knows just about every word to every song- the original cast album is a staple on carrides. she was giddy with excitement that the day had finally arrived! jon took eloise on a dinner date [an 8pm showtime would not have faired well with my newly 2 year old] & meme and i took lu & betsy. we stopped for burgers, fries & fancy drinks at winstead's on the way to the theatre :)

betsy spent the first half go the show kicking around on the blanket & the second half, snoozing. lucy sang & danced, got most excited for the song kill the beast, cried when the show was over & asked if we could watch it again right then :) moments like this are what life is all about.
