betsy babe turns 6 months old in a matter of days!
bea- your sweet, easy spirit has us all smitten over you! these past 6 months have gone WAY too quickly. it's been the most joyful & fulfilling time of my life.

we wrapped up swim lessons for the summer- how is it almost august?!?
& lucy got to go on a special biggest sister date with gmom & gdad to watch madagascar: the musical at crown center's coterie theatre- what a fun, exciting day for this big girl!
this meant i got some one-on-one time with my middle while bea napped. it was the first time in a long time that eloise didn't have to split her toys [& her mom!] 3 ways. she was so content to quietly explore her treasures- she hardly made a sound. it was such a treat to watch her discover her environment, uninterrupted.

& my life. summed up on a story book page from my mom's childhood reading book, fun with dick & jane. my mom talks about how this was her favorite story growing up & how she so badly wanted 3 dollies of her own :)
i still pinch myself, even when i'm up 5 times throughout the night because the baby caught her daddy's cold & the middle has to potty, needs a drink of water & is about to roll off her new big girl bed :) "thank you, thank you, thank you"
in other news- jon surprised us with a trip to big cedar in late august! we had initially planned to make our way to charleston + savannah [2 of my all-time favorite places], but opted against flying with all 3 this young. the thought of checking 3 carseats, among other things, was giving us a serious headache. then this morning, jon sent me a calendar invite for a surprise trip. & i hate surprises. he knows this about me. also, i'm pretty persuasive :) so. big cedar it is! looking forward to a quick family getaway before lucy starts preschool & our crazy fall schedule ensues. to be honest though, i'm pretty excited for fall :)
