thanksgiving week is here! monday is betsy's preschool thanksgiving feast, followed by the big girls' grandparents' day celebration on tuesday morning, and then the excitement of getting to have our girls home for f i v e whole days without school, activities or all the things. we are all in dire need of festive movies, popcorn and slow days by the fire. the holidays are the best days, especially as the girls get more involved in extracurriculars and we have fewer hours at home together each week.
this past week was "watch week" at dance, which in all honesty, means a looong week for our family. i love seeing the girls in their classes; however, all the packed dinners & the usual at-home evening time for 1-2 of my kids while the other is at a class is spent at the studio for multiple nights for all of us, leading to later bedtimes and rushed homework! keepin' it real- i'm always happy when watch week is concluded, although i do think i'll be able to enjoy them more once the girls are a bit older & early bedtimes on weeknights isn't as necessary as they are in our current season [wishful thinking, as i know every season has its own set of challenges ;)]
but goodness, these proud smiles make it all so worth it!

and in the midst of it all, i turned 33 on thursday. jon & the girls made me feel so special all week long, and gifted me the sweetest things that they felt represented who i am to them. deeply grateful for another year of life's lessons, and more opportunity to pour into my family & see our children do good in this world.
