summer is ending and i am so sad! i love having the girls home, but for the first summer since the girls have been school-aged, it felt like we were go go go with the schedule. lucy danced hours upon hours each week with a strong emphasis in ballet and pointe, betsy and eloise had swim team every morning for weeks, we travelled nearly half the summer, betsy's fabulous annie experience. it all went too fast and now i'd like a month to just swim and be in the sun before school starts back up! but instead, the girls met their teachers last night, and after one last pizza and pool party with friends today, 6th, 5th and 3rd grades begin tomorrow. we said yesterday that in order to get to next summer, we've gotta get started back up with the new school year :)
we finished our summer bucket list with a quick trip to the iowa state fair where we were soaked in rain and stuffed with fair food. and we squeezed in other random things like a cat cafe, one last musical theatre troupe performance for the season, and probably too many ice cream pit stops.

we had a dream of a week in the florida panhandle celebrating summer, our 15 year wedding anniversary, and auntie amy's 47th!
