august days-

and a deeply sad time. my lifelong love, dolly, passed on. her ability to stay real and connected to her appalachian roots was especially meaningful to me, as a first generation non-appalachian whose most amazing childhood memories took place in those mountains. she was truly one of one, yet so relatable to the masses.

and best of all, gramma moving to kansas. 

she found the houseplans for her virginia home in the early 1970's, and after 50+ years there, she's now kansas' newest resident. it's one of the greatest gifts of my life, and she's been so brave to make this change.
