miss eloise is much more interested in table food than lucy was at 6 [almost 7!] months- this avocado/banana concoction entertained her for a solid hour!
i haven't made baby food for a year & a half- back to it!
gingerbread house building- jon's super meticulous, so after my attempt & fail, he took over this jolly parental duty :)
we set up a workshop & the girls played with wrapping paper, tape, etc. lucy wrapped & unwrapped her own toys- each gift she opened genuinely surprised her! :)
a morning spent at crown center & union station for one more ride on the santa train this season!
lunch at crayola cafe- worst. food. ever!
we came home & made sugar cookie play dough out of corn starch, vanilla lotion & extract, yellow food coloring & sprinkles- lucy was happy to stick buttons in it, too :)

my mom has started a christmas eve tradition for her grandkids- they get to open a special christmas eve box filled with goodies each year!

this year, we opted out of christmas eve service, knowing that the time & crowd wouldn't be the most successful environment for our 2 young girls. rather, we lit the living room in candles, dimmed the lights & told the girls the story of christmas- jesus' birth. it was so simple & sweet.

christmas was spent at our home in the morning, and jon's parents' after nap. a joy filled day!
