hello, milo!

our newest nephew was born healthy & perfect on father's day- 6.21.15 he has a full head of dark hair & we absolutely cannot wait to snuggle him in a couple of weeks when we make our way out to grand junction, colorado!

we celebrated father's day & the truly outstanding father jon is. i hope our girls grow up to be just like him- driven, loyal, funny, compassionate, interested in all kinds of people & subjects, an a m a z i n g cook. i couldn't be more proud to have him as the man to raise my kids!

we had planned to go to the pool with kim & her kids yesterday, but in the midst of the huge storm that hit kansas city, we opted for the library & panera instead. lucy & harrison have quickly become best buddies :) gretchen & eloise were much to into their french bread loafs to have a picture snapped. are you sensing a theme in my life?

we've had a busy week around here & are really looking forward to slowing down a bit this father's day weekend. we're going out for mexican tonight & are having friends over for a little barbeque tomorrow afternoon. i'm so excited for the girls to give jon the gift they made for him & i'll post pictures of it afterwards :)

lucy started swim lessons on tuesday & absolutely LOVED it! she loves the pool & swimming is such a great life-skill- i'm excited to see her improvement over the summer! my friend, laura, who is an OT & just finished her phD has been teaching private swim for the past several summers & i couldn't be more impressed with her rapport with lucy, or how she knew just what to zone in on & individualize for lu's needs. lucy loved her & has spent the week "calling" miss laura on her pretend minnie mouse phone to talk all about what's going on in her 2 year old world :)

we're doing lessons with my friend kristi's daughter, kaitlyn, who turns 3 in july. kristi also has a new baby, karly, so eloise & her hang together on the side-lines ... the life of a little sister :)

lucy insisted on being extra fancy for a grocery store outing the other day :)

& we've been doing lots of fun summer water combinations in an attempt to stay hydrated with this crazy humidity. strawberry/basil, peach/mint, lemon/jalepeno & pineapple/rosemary are some favorites. 

we went to the pool yesterday with neighborhood friends & jon just got home from taking both girls solo for the first time- superdad! can't wait to celebrate the wonderful one that he is this weekend!

& in BIG news for our family, my sister is delivering our newest nephew, milo, this sunday! the happiest of father's days for them! milo's birthday will be june 21 [if all goes according to plan], which just so happens to coordinate well with big brother tasman's birthday [december 21] & their daddy's [february 21]. i absolutely cannot wait to meet this little guy in a couple short weeks! my mom is currently driving from KC to denver to be there for the big day & the following week. positive thoughts & prayers their way!

we're back from a week in seaside [we actually stayed in water sound] & just now getting caught up with life! the girls LOVED it- eloise loves the sand more than any child i've ever seen. she dives into it & comes up laughing with a mouth full of crunchies :) & lucy, so my oldest, prefers sitting in her beach chair to "just relax" :) [unless we're at the pool, where she went to town for hours each day!]

really, truly a serious highlight of the trip was lucy learning how to use jon's phone camera & taking about a zillion photographs like this ... she's becoming a total "three-nager" :)
