covid19- week 54

finally sunshine this weekend! so so so grateful! those gray days were about more than i could handle in this late-stage pandemic life we're still navigating. 

he may have gotten pulled over 2 exits away from his dealership departure & bypassed a ticket by convincing the officer he was learning how to drive his latest purchase, but jon managed to pull off a big surprise of driving to minnesota & delivering a new car to me! it feels big because we are finally out of the 5 point harness stage of our lives- nearly 9 years later! 

we get to see my sister & her family for the very first time since christmas 2019 next weekend to celebrate easter! i'm counting my blessings- big and small.

covid19- week 53

we renamed this spring break "screen break"- lots of tv, ipads and video chats with friends. we had pretty dreary weather, but the opportunity to get a mind break was so needed! the girls had sleepovers every night, rotating rooms, and jon's favorite time of every year is here- march madness with his loyola chicago ramblers still in it! we're dreaming of our summer trips as we crawl closer to the finish line of this pandemic.

covid19- week 52!!

one whole year of living through this global health pandemic. 

and almost to the day of the world as we've always known it rapidly transforming, jon & i were blessed beyond measure to receive our first dose of the pfizer vaccine!!!

we celebrated jon's 34th with his favorite homemade chocolate cake, presents & he & i had the best dinner date downtown. 

after begging for weeks, eloise chopped 10 inches off her hair. she was so proud of herself! 

such a cutie patootie.

covid19- week 51

here we are- we've made it to the week that our country shut down last year. jon turns 34 on friday and it was his 33rd birthday that everything from broadway to disneyworld [what was supposed to be our destination the very next day] closed. 

i'm spending this week in reflection, solitude and gratefulness for our family coming out physically healthy. as a dance teacher, i'm able to receive my first dose of the vaccine on wednesday, and we know that every single vaccination is a step towards an unmasked future. 

hard to believe, but our baby bea had kindergarten roundup this past week. i've never seen a child so proud of herself!!

we've had beautiful spring weather and are counting the days to spring break- a week off from school, homework and activities is just what this mama ordered!
