what is your favorite toy: no candy. thunderstorms. jingle bells. mickey. ummmm... caterpillars! it turns into a butterfly! it crawls!

lucy jane started preschool today! she was so very excited, she hardly looked back to tell her mama goodbye :)

betsy claire turned 7 months & popped 2 teeth, which made for an absolutely terrible 4 nights & multiple coffee-pot-filled 4 days. but she's so dang sweet & smoochable, she's almost caused me to forget... almost :) 

eloise ate the watercolors again :)

& we've been enjoying as much time indoors as possible. this heat is still insane! with september 1 just around the corner, we're ready for cooler weather & zoo + farm trips to resume :)

my gramma gets in town today, followed by my sister & her boys tomorrow, and my aunt & uncle the next day. we have a fun week planned & lucy is absolutely ecstatic for time with great gramma helen :)

big cedar recap 2016

i can't say enough wonderful words about this place. it is so beautiful and peaceful, and is so family friendly. our little family so needed this little recharge-

 

we are leaving with full hearts and the sweetest memories. lucy & eloise shared a bed and walked out of their room each morning, hand-in-hand holding their matching dollies. betsy took in the sights & sounds, and gave lots of extra snuggles. we're already planning for next summer!

happy weekend! we're getting ready to head out of town for our little family get-away. lucy is beyond excited for "our adventure, and s'mores, and swimming, and a fire, and the golf cart, and animals, and donuts, and my bed" :) jon's told her that there are "many pools" at our resort- which she heard as "minnie pools" ...as in the mouse :) she can't wait!

the girls & their friends got to decorate cookies with ariel on friday morning. it was a sweet little event hosted at pinstripes as a part of their kids' club :)

& this morning we got to go to katie & kourtney's 4th birthday princess party at the farmstead! the chilly weather has us all so excited for the change of seasons :)
