we had such a fun week celebrating betsy! her sisters did everything they could to give her a special birthday... a homemade card they stayed up late working on together, shopping for her favorite things, making her breakfast [lucky charms, orange juice and yogurt!] and covering her bedroom door in signs. she loved every single minute of it, and when we tucked her in on the night of her birthday, she said she didn't want it to end! meme made her her favorite birthday cake, she brought treats to school and dance, the others skipped dance classes for us to go to betsy's favorite dinner spot as a family, and i brought her her lunch request to school- her most beloved happy meal. 

betsy is such a character- she is extremely dramatic and loves being smack in the middle of anything exciting. she's sneaky, confident, goofy and loves all things fancy- lipstick, dresses, costumes. she can always be seen carrying around either a caboodle, purse or basket stuffed with eyeshadows, barbie shoes, nail polishes, markers, coins, hair bows, you name it. next week, she opens the school talent show singing "good ship lollipop" and she's quite literally counting down the days to being the center of the school's attention. being her mom is a blast, a challenge and a gift. sometimes it's hard to believe our cherry on top is already 6 <3

BB turns 6!

our sweetest, most dramatic betsy bea has been dreaming of her rainbow birthday for weeks and weeks, and we had such fun celebrating a few days early with some of her favorite friends!

bea's party guests arrived with donations for the local pet shelter that we adopted charlie from 11 years ago, and she loved bringing them to the donation center and checking out all the sweet puppies up for adoption when the party ended-

our week was filled with snowy winter days, and lots of togetherness. we're all ready for a bit of a routine to be back in our lives ;)

we've continued to dodge the bullet, but it feels like the covid walls are closing in.

the latest variant of covid is absolutely rampant. unfortunately because the girls' christmas show had to be rescheduled to this past weekend, covid numbers had spiked just prior to the production [likely because of holiday gatherings], leading to what we now know was a super-spreader event. several of the girls' friends and their parents tested positive in the following days. some had worn masks backstage and in the auditorium, while others opted not to. so far our family has been spared [knock on wood], and we're doing our best to continually navigate these unsteady waters nearly 2 years into this pandemic. 

thinking warm thoughts as we hunker-down at home this weekend.
