shower

we had a whirlwind of a weekend. eloise enjoyed herself :)

i truly couldn't have hosted the shower without the help of my hubby & mom. jon does it all- shops, arranges flowers, takes care of the girls- sure glad i caught him when i did :)

lucy is the best baby bubble bath assistant! [although she enjoys splashing water on her sister a bit too much in my opinion...:)]

snapped a pic of eloise to compare with her sister at this same age. as suspected, el belle is my little chunk! 

the shower was so fun! lucy skipped her nap for the first time in her entire life- she was way too excited to sleep! she's making up for it today... thankfully!

as a surprise for lauren, i had jon interview devin & video it. during gifts, i would ask lauren a question & she had to answer as she thought devin would. i'd then play the clip, and for each answer she got wrong, she had to put a piece of bubble gum in her mouth. by the end of gifts, she had a full mouth of bubblegum! a great way to include the groom in the festivities- because we all know the wedding is actually the bride's day... :)

spending this week playing catch up, party planning lucy's birthday, and starting to think about packing for vacation. 2 little girls come with a lot of baggage ;)

ps- fell in love with lauren's soon-to-be mother-in-law. she's a former la leche league leader [along with my mama], and she shed some wisdom on the bottle situation. i've decided to give it up- it's simply not worth the stress of a practice bottle each day because of one day in which i won't be with eloise as much [the wedding day]- by the time the wedding rolls around, i'll have introduced a sippy or straw cup. exclusively nursing is something i'm [obviously] passionate about, so following my heart on this feels really good. thanks to mrs patterson for the little mommy-push i needed :)
