grateful jon's back in town. while he was away, we kept ourselves busy at meme's new office building's awesome playground. it's sectioned off into different age groups, and lucy was overjoyed to play in the 6-23 month area that's just her size :)

my sweet sweet sidekick went with the flow, as always :) so in love with her dreamy blue eyes.

walked into this the other morning... one of these days the two of them are gonna go to town in my closet. wouldn't trade being their mom for the world! [but do need to trade which shoes i make available at toddler height...]

eloise & charlie sitting through yet another of lucy's tea parties... they're very patient :) and lucy is extremely particular- she has a certain order she likes to take each item out of her tea party box- she'll let you know if you're not following along just as she pleases. she is definitely my daughter. apologies in advance to her future spouse!

took advantage of a sleeping eloise to make a fun lunch for lucy. same food, new concept :) it made everything taste much better- just ask lu :)

newest lucyisms are talking about her shadow quite often "yucy [lucy] shadow outside!!" & reminding me to be very careful with her sister. "be very careful!" [wonder where she got that?] she loves our neighbor's tomato garden, and gets super excited to go point out which are green & which are "orange" on "jane's tomato" bushes. she's referring to eloise as "eloise amy" and herself as "lucy jane" randomly here and there, and actually her favorite word as of late is "amy" referencing her auntie. typical conversation:

mom: "lucy, what do you want to eat for breakfast?"

lucy: "amy"

mom: "lucy, which song do you want to listen to?"

lucy: "amy"

she knows she's being silly & is totally looking for a reaction... & so it begins :)

also just now becoming pretty obsessed with the frozen soundtrack- asks for "snowman" several times a day, and let me tell you, there's not much sweeter on this green earth than hearing a 22 month old sing along to a showtune. she may have a future ;)

eloise is really tolerating tummy-time well. she has a strong neck and can push up high to look around & check out the scenery. she loves books, smiling at mommy's reflection in the mirror, watching big sister in total awe, playing under her play gym, laying on my lap to kick around and look up at the sky, skin-to-skin [a happy little nursling just like lucy!], and naps in the moby. not at all rushing this baby stage that will be gone all too quickly. 

important to note though that i'm, of course, still having some pretty messy days here & there where i just want to run & hide under a rock because my living room is a mess, i need to nurse eloise, let charlie out to potty, get lucy a drink, and potty myself all at the exact same moment. what can i say... i've become a master multi-tasker :)

hosting my best friend's bridal shower this weekend :) will post pics afterwards- looking forward to a wonderful afternoon honoring a girl that's been planning her wedding for many years ;)

...& 2 weeks from today we're beach bound for a week of september florida air. so ready!
