this december week brought warm temps and sunny days, seeing santa at sion and making christmas lists. we introduced the girls to a christmas story, our elf came out of the woodwork and has already forgotten to switch locations a night or 2 [she got stuck], and they've already consumed more candy canes than most do in a lifetime. betsy's looking forward to the feast day of st. nicholas tomorrow [which brings chocolate coins delivered inside their booties overnight], eloise is praying for no migraine on christmas day this year, and lucy's absolutely loving dancing the role of cindy lou who in her dance company's production number of the grinch. jon and i are getting ready to host a big, fun, festive christmas party next weekend [the girls are going to their grandparents' for an overnight], and the following weekend is the girls' studio's performances of clara's dream. so much packed into one month. this year i'm really trying to not over-commit, and to just have a stress-free, enjoyable season without the pressure of doing it all, but rather, doing what i can well and with a grateful heart.
