we've had the best snowy week around here! lots of home days & the girls couldn't love it more. the imaginations of lucy & eloise are running wild & the games they come up with & play together are hilarious. just this morning, eloise was a puppy & lucy was trying to get her to stay inside her kennel [which was apparently underneath my desk chair in our dining room]. every couple minutes, eloise would burst out screaming & running around the kitchen island, and lucy would chase after her, trying to get her puppy back inside the kennel. this kept them completely occupied a good 30 minutes or so :) they really, really play together now, and their age gap continues to feel smaller. it's no longer unimaginable to me that they will only be one grade apart in school. betsy spends a majority of her time trying to keep up with her sisters, and she has a sweet & unique relationship with each of them. we're in a sweet spot right now- everyone sleeps through the night & naps in the afternoons so i get a bit of a break, eloise has been completely potty trained & in her big girl bed 7-8 months now, lucy looks forward to school, both big girls love dancing class. i feel so grateful that we made it through the haze that is adding a new baby to the family [what is it about that first year?!] & that we've found our new normal- one i love at that! i love january for that reason- getting back into the swing of a routine with the occasional snow day to slow down, keep a pot of coffee hot & to just let my kids be kids.
