sister snapshot

these girls have grown & changed so, so much over the summer. a quick sister snapshot of our 3 dolls-

lucille [age 3]- turning 4 this month & seriously, it's hard to find the words. lucy views the world with innocence and the brightest eyes. she's eager to learn and understand, and quick to love. she gets excited about thunderstorms, desserts, and her daddy coming home from work. she was so ready and excited to start preschool, and her favorite parts of the school day are art, snack and the playground. she loves dance class, and asks when she can be on stage again at least 5x per day. she loves babies, and goes out of her way to tell betsy good morning and to kiss her good night. she is a stand-up role model for her baby sisters- setting an example of compassion, acceptance and following her moral compass [most of the time ;)] she asks if she can help me fold laundry, and insists that i "clap in the end" after she sings along to a song in the car. lately, she's super into knowing what's going to happen in the coming days- she likes a schedule and to have her weeks planned out, just like her mama :) she is flexible and pretty darn accommodating to others, and i am proud every single day to be this sweet one's mommy and friend :)

eloise [27 months]- this gal keeps me on my toes! she surprises me with her thoughts, ideas and memories. her vocabulary has grown tremendously over the past few weeks, and with it, her confidence and ability to problem solve and keep her cool. she is such a snuggle bunny, and nuzzles her tiny body into mine as close and compact as she possibly can. she's been potty trained for 4 months now, and has never wet the bed! so many people warned me that, with her strong will, this would be a huge process, but it's thankfully been the opposite. she's gained independence and pride in herself with her new skill-set :) she loves books, art, exploring the world at her own [snail-speed] pace. she desperately wants to be in school after seeing lucy's classroom, but loves our coffee dates after we drop lucy off- she talks about the coffee shop daily :) everyday she asks if it's her turn to "take ballet", and is going to be beside herself when the day finally arrives next week. she's become extra sweet on "baby betsy" and her latest phrase is "oh my goodness!" just today, she came up with "spinning around in octagons" rather than "circles" while twirling in the living room :) she's our quirkiest, for sure :)

beatrice [7 months]- betsy babe! 7 months already! as of today, we officially have a crawler. betsy views the world through her big, brown eyes with pure joy and excitement. she is so fun to greet in the mornings- she squeals, kicks and waves her arms to greet the day :) she's my little sidekick, and she'll sit in her highchair for hours while i get housework done, taking in the action and happily feeding herself- this girl loves to try new foods! her favorites are green beans, cucumbers, apples, kamut and turkey. she loves to drink water from her cup, and gets mad mad mad when it's taken away. she's such a trooper, being dragged all over the city for her sisters' activities, and she's good to chill in her stroller for the most part, although with her newfound mobility, she does get antsy sooner. she's popped 2 teeth over the past couple of weeks, which has totally messed with her sleep. thankfully the other girls have been sleeping so soundly that they don't stir when betsy is up every hour [or so it feels]. she's just a happy, feel-good person, and we are truly enjoying and soaking her up.

these girls exhaust me in the best way and i am grateful always to get to spend all of our days together. the days are often long, but the years are always short.
