yesterday jon & i celebrated 6 years of marriage & 13 years spent together. he took me to dinner at the majestic in downtown kansas city & it couldn't have been a more beautiful evening- a nice difference from the blazing heat of the day. we so lucked out on our actual wedding day, with temps in the low 80's [unheard of for a kansas city august!] 

we've had a busy 6 years [& it continues to be full & full of surprises!], but like we said at dinner last night, we wouldn't change a thing- it's just how we roll in this season of our lives :)

this past week was a whirlwind- finding out we're having our third baby girl [best news ever!], jon was out of the house most evenings for work, i'm starting to plan lucy's 3rd birthday party & we're planning our next big round of house renovations! more on all that in another post :)

lucy woke up one morning last week & told me, "mom, i really need to dress like dorfy today." she keeps going back & forth between wanting to be dorothy or the little mermaid for halloween. i'm not sure she'll be able to settle on just one until we have the actual costume in hand :)

& yesterday morning, we set all 5 of our butterflies free :)

then followed it with a trip the mall [lucy got to choose one thing at the disney store & went with the sparkly minnie pop-star purse set, which she hasn't put down since- it even got to accompany us to church this morning:)]

& hide & seek in the men's department at nordstrom's anniversary sale :)

sissy snapshots after today's church service- eloise's newest word is "glasses" & she'll shriek it until we put these on her face :) she's also started clapping & yelling "YAY!!!" when either A) she gets something she wants OR B) she does something she's proud of ... it's only the cutest thing ever!

our week ahead is packed with a playdate each day [taking advantage of my teacher friends' last days off for summer!] & jon most likely making a last minute business trip. looking forward to temps cooling down & the fall season [my favorite!] beginning in the coming weeks!
