happy monday, friends! i'm happy to report that sleep is back on track in the dandurand household :) we have decided to wake eloise up right at the 2 hour nap mark in hopes that this will start stretching out mornings a bit. for the most part, she's always up between 6 & 6:05, which is a big contrast from lucy's usual late wake-ups. but thankfully, both of my girls are healthy! [although both exhausted after a fun morning at the pool with friends!]

lucy's current car obsession is listening to the beauty and the beast soundtrack. this actually isn't a new obsession, but rather her obsession with song #8 is new over the last couple weeks. much to my horror, it's the song "kill the beast" ... lucy knows every word, happily sing-screams it, and asks for the song again & again. 

eloise has been singing for the past few weeks, too! she knows all of the songs in the girls' sing-along books! it's sweetest to hear her attempt "let it go" from frozen ... she sings "goooo!" & of course her moving & grooving go right along with the tunes. 

& this morning as i was handing lucy her vitamin chewy, which she loves because of the fruit punch flavor, she insisted "mom, Jesus says i need TWO chewies today." nice try, little lady :)

jon's uncle scott & aunt shelley stopped by for saturday lunch. they live in wichita, so this was a fun treat. scott's magic show secured him as one of the funniest people in lucy's book :)

lucy went to a birthday party for twin-friends, katie & kourtney, over the weekend. it was a super cute owl theme & lucy had an absolute blast! the party was right in the middle of eloise's nap, so jon stayed home with the little one. [katie's & kourtney's dad, kasey, and my brother have been best friends since the first grade, and i sang in kasey & tina's wedding years ago]

saturday night, jon & i had plans for a dessert date after we'd put the girls to sleep. we're really taking advantage of these next few months with small dates here & there. my mom is awesome to accommodate on so many weekend evenings! we ended up just going through the starbucks drive-thru & driving around kansas city- so nice to talk uninterrupted!

yesterday during eloise's nap, jon took lucy shopping for a daddy/daughter date & i totally took an hour & a half nap! i know i've said it before, but i am SO much more exhausted this pregnancy taking care of the older 2. naps were not a part of my personal vocabulary a few months ago! [as of today i'm 16 weeks & baby is the size of an avocado! these fruit references always make my sister, a perinatologist, giggle :) i have my early gestational diabetes screen later this week- i was positive with lucy & negative with eloise- fingers crossed hard!]

i have the oven preheating for oven tacos- great recipe on pinterest- & the girls have been doing some awesome independent play together recently. jon said the other night, "this is the first time i have REALLY seen them like this!" while they were totally cracking each other up at dinner- it was like jon & i didn't exist in their happy little world :) happy new week! grateful to be living my very favorite days.
