whew! what a busy few days it's been! both girls are napping & i'm playing catch up around the house. jon left for canada this morning.
lucy's started asking me to take her picture. see below: ["mommy, take a picture!"]
we completed fall decorating day. jon started, i finished. no easy task when you have children that need their parents! [although, lucy's independent play skills are pretty impressive, and eloise is happy to watch from tummy time :)]
on lucy's birthday, we decided to go to the farmstead rather than the zoo. this way, we were able to also do the cider mill! & eloise has recently made it very clear that she's not having the carseat. she does great half the time. the other half, she wants someone back there talking to her [she's quite social], and lucy's not fulfilling the duty. chancing an unhappy baby on the drive to/from the zoo wasn't a pleasant option for any of us!
lucy loved the farmstead! we hadn't been since june, and daddy hadn't been since april. we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to celebrate our tenderhearted & spirited 2 year old!

the next day, auntie amy, uncle brian & tasman arrived! we could not have been more ready to see them! we celebrated meme's birthday, and the cousins played for hours!
lucy's luau was saturday. the weather was absolutely perfect, and the celebration was even better! [special thanks to auntie amy for documenting!] the party would have not been a success without jon & patrick [eloise's Godfather & jon's best man in our wedding] as the meat-men, meme's amazing cake pops, and auntie amy & meme setting up. pulling off a birthday party when there are babies to be taken care of is, again, no easy feat!

afterwards, the men [jon, uncle brian & patrick] put together the most elaborate dollhouse on the market. auntie amy surprised lucy when she woke up from nap, and the reaction was priceless!
i think the girls will be 10 before they'll be able to reach the attic :) barbie's malibu dream house has nothin' on this sucker... thank you, auntie amy, for what is sure to be a staple in lucy's & eloise's childhood memories :)
sunday was eloise's 4 month birthday! how is this so?!?

in "luau" of gifts, lucy asked for book donations to the lee ann britain infant development center, where i taught before becoming a stay-at-home mom. we were completely overwhelmed by the generosity of our family & friends! lucy happily delivered the books this morning! we've begun a new tradition in our family :)
