now that we have a 5, 3 & 1 year old, we're due for another sister snapshot! life is crazy busy structured right now, with the big girls at 2 different schools [meaning 2 different school schedules for mom to follow!], 3 girls in dance, and me teaching + planning for the dance school's winter day camps. but life is so so so good & because i thrive so much better with structured schedules, i'm totally in my element! with field trips & school holiday parties happening & because i can't be in 3 places at once, jon's mom has her work cut out for her. she has really stepped in & is helping take care of transportation & childcare on days where one of the girls has a field trip or school party/special day, so that i can be a part of those special activities while ensuring the other girls are well cared for.
i set my alarm for 5:30 on weekday mornings so that we can make it out of the house on time & i'm not rolling out of the driveway in my pajamas. as long as we've all had a full-night's sleep the previous night [hit or miss with betsy getting molars!], then we have a jumpstart on our day & i've had enough coffee to keep up the pace ;)
lucille five years old- lucy loves her school! like me, she thrives on structure & loves knowing what to expect of the day ahead of her. she dresses herself & her favorite things include matching her accessories to her outfits, doing her "makeup" [layers of princess chapstick] & styling her dollies' hair. she could sit all day long practicing writing her letters, coloring and drawing. she desperately wants to learn to read, tie her shoes, and learn to braid. she is sensitive & hates the thought of being in trouble. she has a really goofy, silly side that usually comes out when she's extra excited about the day ahead of her! she is intentional with all of her actions, and spends a lot of time pondering weather patterns [she's done this for years!] she has the sweetest heart, which we really get glimpses of when she says her prayers for her sisters. she wishes we could all pick up & move to the beach, but worries a hurricane would make our house fly away.
eloise three years old- eloise has blown me away with how well she's adjusted to preschool! she gets so excited & feels so proud when telling us about seeing her name written throughout her classroom. she is the best big sister to betsy- she makes her laugh, cares for her & includes her [most of the time!] she wants to be exactly like lucy & tells me she's 5, "just like loose" as she's dubbed her ;) she has a big personality, but is introverted in her actions. she's been taking on different identities & insisting her name isn't eloise for weeks now- she's gone through the names rainbow, unicorn, mia, maya, "all the pretty names" & the latest, pineapple. she's sweet as can be, gives the absolute best hugs & kisses when she feels like it, and makes everyone she meets smile a bit bigger. she's really into recognizing numbers, and a major personality trait that i absolutely love about her but that drives me completely insane is- she really does not care what other people think or what other's opinions are [unless it's lucy!]- she does what she wants, when she wants. lord help us!
beatrice 20 months old- it's hard to believe that our sweet bea is the exact age lucy was when eloise was born & that eloise was when she was born! her language & sentence structure is exploding every day. the thoughts she puts together & shares with me are the sweetest thing ever. she wants to keep up with her sisters more than anything, but also loves to be up & held. she's so proud to have a dancing class of her own, and is a total bookworm. she loves coloring, munching on ice and has the funniest "S" lisp ;) she's still super attached to her bunny lovey, and dancing to her favorite songs is her favorite pastime. she asks lots of questions, loves to be a helper, and is lost without her sisters when they're at school. one of these days, she'll really look forward to that one-on-one time with mom ;) eloise makes her laugh the hardest, and she loves when lucy carries her around like a babydoll. she's a total daddy's girl & squeals as soon as he gets home from work. she likes doing things she knows she shouldn't & how can we get upset when we have those big, brown eyes staring up at us?!
