daddy daughter and denver davidsons!

we spent the girls' 6 day weekend celebrating their first daddy daughter dance since the covid era began and visiting our davidson cousins in denver. special, cherished memories all around!

we were off bright and early the next morning for the 8 hour drive with meme-

seeing the cousins and their friendships together was the very best.

we had the most, heaviest snowfall in kansas city for as long as i can remember... so we all tacked on another day of no school this winter! the storm followed a 60+ degree couple of days that gave us spring fever, and we're really looking forward to sunny, warm days ahead...

wednesday marked the first day the girls have gone to school without a mask in nearly 2 years! while numbers were pretty frightening at the beginning of the new year, we feel as good as we can about our school now going mask optional. lucy went into the day slightly apprehensive, but ended it saying she felt "free" - absolute music to my heart. navigating a pandemic with 3 school-aged children has been the ultimate roller-coaster, but maybe just maybe we're over the steepest drop.

a week of good old-fashioned snow days [always topped with endless sister cat-fights and a never-ending mess of a house], frigid weather, early valentine's gifts and we capped today with betsy shining as the opening act of the all-school talent show!
