oh my. it's been the craziest week with eloise's stations of the cross prayer at school, the spring ballet, jon and i helping to host a whiskey night fundraising event for the school (note that a whiskey distillery has cheap local wine that does in fact get you wasted), grandparents day, and gathering easter goodies before driving with my mom to virginia to see my gramma. it took us 2 days and a 17 hour audiobook to make it all the way to hillsville. i'm so grateful to have seen my gramma's new assisted living home and spend a couple of days catching up, shopping (so many mountainside stores!) and eating country food (tomato puddling, pea salad and hushpuppies!)

in true dad fashion, pics were few and far between, but jon spoiled the girls with the nail salon, movie nights and golf cart rides to the club for dinner while i was away :)

a pop by visit to see aunt shelby. it's been hard for gramma to not have the independence of visiting with her whenever it sounds nice, and it was one of her first requests when we arrived. 

my favorite part of gramma's new home is the little bird set-up her cousin rita created for her. she spends lots of time studying the birds that stop by, looking them up in the sweetest 1956 bird catalogue. i was so obsessed that my mom found the book on ebay and ordered me a matching one!

she bought some new earrings in fancy gap and asked me to help put them on since it'd been since february that she'd been able to wear a pair. so pretty!

and at her favorite mountain side produce stand. 

i got the most fun easter candy for the girls here!
