summer is getting closer! we have fun adventures we're looking forward to both as a family and for just jon and me. lucy auditioned for a summer production yesterday [and told me she was "as excited as the size of our house!"], and for the first time in a long long time, things are feeling closer to normal. there's a shared trauma from everything that's happened in our world these past 13 months, but as certain opportunities are here again, and as millions more people receive their vaccinations each day, there's hope.
lu says she's going to pass this book that sat on my childhood bookshelf down to her oldest niece, just like auntie amy-
eloise's dresser organizational skills are on point, as i discovered while putting laundry away ;)
ready to do her thing! i'm proud of her confidence, bravery and preparedness.
and the best part of every audition she's ever had- a 7-11 slurpee afterwards!

these sweet deer are starving from the winter. a neighbor hand-feeds them, and they're getting closer to trusting us, too.
bea and i have 6 weeks left together, just the 2 of us. then comes summer and kindergarten. i so vividly remember the day i found out i was pregnant with her. i had wished hard for it, but also felt very overwhelmed with an 11 month old and 2 year old at home. i remember thinking "one day, they'll all be in full-time school"... it blows my mind that that time is just about here.
we have an exciting week ahead with lucy's first communion!
the gift of spring and new life is everything.
