we're home from, hands down, the best vacation we've ever taken since beginning our parenthood journey! our girls are all such fun ages & personalities for a good, all-American beach vacation. lucy spent the week floating in the water, eloise dug in the sand to her heart's content, and bea turned brown as a berry, while swimming like a fish & making her sweet presence known, strutting up & down the shore. everyone slept great [lucy & eloise sharing a bed], we had the best hosts & weather, and there was coffee, prosecco & ice cream for days.
i was actually sad to say goodbye to this week, which is completely unlike me! i'm usually anxious for vacations to end so we can get back to routine. this was the first beach trip in 5 years that i haven't been sick & pregnant, nursing a tiny baby in the sand & heat, or all of the above. jon & i may have snuck in a high-5 or ten ... we did it! we feel like we've entered into this next welcomed season of our lives.
it was a fitting end to the summer season :)
full hands, very full hearts!
