tomorrow is the girls' first costume event of the season & they are SO excited! jon & i have some work to do to put the finishing touches on miss eloise's costume tonight ;)

jon arrived home from philadelphia last night. he had a big week there & we are so proud of him! he was up for the young leader of the year award through corenet, which is a corporate real estate networking group that jon has been a part of his entire career. he's been the kansas city chapter president for the past couple of years, and he has made his best connections through this group, while attending these conferences the past several years. he's recently begun teaching break-out sessions, and a large portion of his time is spent devoted to this large, global organization. well just this year, the young leader award was introduced. i'm his wife, so i can brag here a bit, right?! there were thousands of individuals  throughout the world eligible for this award [all under the age of 36], and when he first brought it up as a possibility of something he may have a shot at winning, i brushed it off as being a long-shot of an opportunity. 

several weeks ago, he learned that he had been chosen as one of the final 3 contestants, and on monday night at the closing ceremony of this year's global summit, he was awarded the inaugural young leader award :) this was definitely a defining career [& life!] moment for him. big stuff! it definitely is nice to feel like all of his [constant] travel is working towards a greater good :)

when he arrived home yesterday afternoon, lucy & i immediately dashed out for a little pop-tarts & coffee date :) one-on-one time with each of my babies is something i am consciously working towards achieving as often as possible! her little 4 year old cup was so full during our time together- mama's was, too :)
