girl rooms galore!

last week's snow was so much fun! it's so nice to have jammie days, play in the cold, warm up with hot cocoa + the fire & not have to be anywhere! fingers crossed for some more of those in the coming weeks :)

35 weeks last week & struggling to get my winter socks & booties on each morning :)

new year's sparkle with these festive gals-

& a celebratory strawberry devil's food cake ala chef lucille-

new year's eve was a blast at union station with 2 of our closest friends. we had an amazing 4 course meal- the wine pairings with each course had me just a tad envious :)

we've been spending this week seeing friends & i'm getting the girls out of the house as much as possible, knowing that life is going to significantly slow down in less than a month. hoping to have my feet back under me once springtime comes, and feel comfortable taking all 3 girls out of the house on my own! thank goodness for baby-wearing & an extra responsible 3 year old. that eloise, my wild child, is the one to watch! we've just made the switch to popping up the third row in my backseat for lucy's carseat- whew! getting even 2 in & out is a workout. hoping that'll be a little easier without a watermelon under my shirt :)

& on tuesday we tried out parkside coffeehouse- a coffeeshop connected to a playground. genius! my friend katie & i sat, and actually drank hot coffee & talked while we watched our 4 girls run all of their energy out!

AND... drumroll... the ROOMS! the biggest weight off my shoulders having these projects complete. between the closet organization, furniture refinishing, painting, purchases, plumbing, etc. it really was a HUGE project on top of daily life & i'm thrilled with how each space turned out-

betsy's nursery door- my friend, laura, surprised me with this lacy burlap wreath :) i love it!

my mom found this paper doll book cover from the 1950's, had it matted & framed, and we placed it on the wall where eloise's eloise book covers had been-

eloise's first pair of ballet slippers still make the perfect nursery decor :)

eloise's ballerina room needed just a few changes from what had been lucy's room-

of course we put up her book covers- this space had occupied a large framed collage of lucy's newborn photos-

& lucy's big girl room! this room had been blue & a holding cell of crafts, extra furniture, wrapping paper, storage bins... you name it. the burlap banner above her bed says "princess lucille" & is from her 3rd birthday party decorations-

we opted for a ceiling fan rather than a chandelier, as lucy's new room is at the front of the house with a big window that gets extra warm in the summer months. we were excited to find this white-washed wood piece that looks especially nice with her burlap banner. it resembles barnwood & fits our pseudo chic/rustic/country garden theme. 

this is jon's refinished childhood furniture & i can honestly say we couldn't have hand-picked something i love more! he did such a great job-

my mom made the bow & picture ribbon boards- all 3 girls now have them in their rooms, hand-made by their meme [she even sewed on buttons & pearls!] [...the clothes you see hanging on the valet of the dresser are for when jon brings the big girls to meet betsy in the hospital. i have everything laid out for him, down to their socks & shoes... surprise:)]

the frame on the top left of this shelving [from ikea & it turned out fab!] is a handwritten poem by my aunt chalon from the late 1960's called "little little lucy"- she wrote it as a kid & dug it out for me a couple years ago when we were visiting her beach house :)

lucy's L matches her sisters' bathroom letters & the stepstool is from jon's parents- they got each of the girls a personalized one for christmas & i really, really love them!

i turned 36 weeks on monday & am hopeful to make it to at least 39 weeks before delivering. bea's measuring a bit smaller than ideal [which is unexpected given my gestational diabetes diagnosis, where there's a risk of baby being large], but my doctor isn't too concerned given that lucy & eloise were both just 6lb babies. i'm being monitored a bit closer with weekly ultrasounds, and i'll have a growth scan when i'm 38 weeks, which will determine an action plan for the remainder of the pregnancy. once she's out, all is expected to be well- it's a matter of determining at what point that will be. i am beaming with excitement to meet this little one! prayers for healthy & happy :)

when you ask eloise, "where's the baby?" she points to herself, giggles & says "ME!" this will be interesting... lucy was pointing to my tummy when we'd ask her at this age :)

& in lucy news, she's distraught over not being able to figure out how to "make myself small like a fairy" :)
