oh my gosh. eloise is napping & lucille is spending the day with jon's parents. it's 1:30pm & there is peace & quiet in my house- this never happens mid-day anymore! i am certainly soaking it up as i drink my hot tea with shampooed [& blow-dryed!] hair & a face dressed in makeup :) 

...because most days now that i have 2 mobile children & one is very much two & a half- this is my reality ;) [& we're coming off of lucy having a fever for 7 days in a row...ick]

eloise waved "bye-bye" to her sister & spent time watching the house painters this morning- exciting stuff happening outside!

& we finished the morning with a playdate with sweet sweet friend, gretchen. gretchen's mom, kim, & i met when we were super pregnant last spring- like 1 & 2 weeks from giving birth! we were at the park by our houses with our older kids, and turned out we live in the same neighborhood with mutual friends. we've gotten close as we've had our babies this past year- lots of passing information, asking questions, looking for reassurance- so nice to have a friend like that, who's right where you are in life!

& it looks to me like lucy is enjoying her big sister date-day with gmom & gdad :)

& in big news for miss lucy- she is obsessed with the very hungry caterpillar. she's slept with 2 copies of the book for months now [because one got lost & after getting another, the first one obviously showed up & now she's attached to both...] & she recites the story at least 20x per day. SO when our butterfly growing kit arrived a few days ago she was PUMPED. & then i realized that we aren't going to be home to care for the caterpillars consecutively until the end of JULY. so instead of learning about the life-cycle of a butterfly, we're learning a life lesson in patience...

eloise, & her now FOUR teeth, is much happier now that those are in :)

& upon taking down easter, summer went up. our first beach trip of the season is just a couple weeks away! seaside with meme, auntie amy, uncle brian, tasman, aunt chalon & uncle dave. we're sharing a house with my sister & her family, which is right next door to chalon & dave's home- they live in a little beach community that is oftentimes people's second-homes, so these families rent out for weeks when they aren't in florida. it's the perfect set-up for us! here's hoping that this trip goes smoother than last september's when our girls were younger &, let's be honest, my mom wasn't around to help :) lucy & tasman will be sleeping in bunk-beds. seriously?! how are we old enough for this already?!?

& in even more lucy news, we've decided to wait one more year before sending her to preschool. because her birthday is after the september 1 cut-off [by a mere 25 days], she doesn't actually qualify for preschool, bur rather, for a mother's day out program, which would be 1-2 half-days a week. since i'm home, it feels best to keep her home one more year, too. she'll then have 2 years of preschool before heading off to kindergarten. ...& why am i already thinking about this? it goes so fast.
