bea bea is F O U R !

miss fancy pants is four years old! i've never known a child to love all the fancies as much as betsy does- all the lipsticks, eyeshadows, glitters and nail polishes. at four, she still wants to grow up and be a "lipstick girl", "rainbow and fuchsia" are her favorite colors, she spends hours a day organizing her caboodle treasures [a mashup of lol doll pieces, play makeup and miniature-sized bows she's collected + the random penny she finds here & there], she wants all the carbs all the time- fudge, sprinkle donuts, marshmallows and mac & cheese are among her favorites- and she is my absolute buddy, muse, helper and dolly. she goes wherever i go, caboodle in hand, and is by far the most dramatic, sneaky, and spotlight-seeking of our 3 girls. she sings all the time, loudly, and is an over-the-top, live life to the fullest kinda gal. i learn from her everyday, and am forever grateful for the goodness and grace she brings to our family. 

about nothing on God's green earth suits her more than an lol doll birthday celebration at her favorite place in the world... "claire's at the mall!" ;)

for her preschool birthday treats, she chose frozen 2 cereal with cotton candy and chocolate milks, and chocolate hummus for dipping raspberries. i mean... she is fancy.

and in the midst of the birthday weekend, our eloise chose to flip over the couch, despite years of warnings from her parents, splitting open her forehead & requiring an ER visit that left her with a couple of stitches & a sincere promise to never do so again. never a dull moment, and never a moment taken for granted.

kansas city is abuzz with the chiefs heading to the superbowl! and all is well with loads of time for friends and family between the snow days and whatnot. january slow days are a big, big blessing that we are soaking in and appreciating fully!

such a FUN night with the brewers seeing chicago in concert at the kauffman! my high school friend turned broadway diva star [seriously] stunned as mama, and i laughed harder than i can remember when not one, but two of my high heels broke off leaving me with awkward sloped-toe flats to hobble around in ;)

tomorrow we celebrate miss bb turning FOUR! off to blow up lol doll balloons!!!!

lots of barbie & lol doll playing these days- generally the same story line in a different location ;)

eloise has been dying to wear a necklace to school, and unless it has a religious affiliation, necklaces are against uniform code. lucy's crucifix was vacuumed up by our housecleaners, and the angel wings she wears from performing as an angel over christmas are certainly not something she's willing to share. rather than wait for the day she receives her own religious pendent of sorts, eloise made up her mind that she was going to create her own uniform-allowed jewelry. the absolute sweetest-

2 teeth down, and she's thrilled to have a spot to "rest her straw" ;)

jammie day in preschool- always one of the most exciting school days of the year!

and i can't ever allow myself to forget my current daily sight that accompanies our every errand- a caboodle overflowing with play makeup, lol accessories and "lipstick"-

friday was another snow day off from school- my forever favorite!

after lucy's basketball saturday, we raced to get ready for a chiefs pep rally that some miller marley dancers performed in. it was so so so freezing, and totally worth it to see the joy on the kids' faces. they had a ball! and maybe the dads, even more so...

jon's hosting clients at the AFC championship today, and the girls and i are spending the day thawing out from yesterday's excursion ;)
