happy birthday a few days early to our knight in shining dress slacks!!!

jon, we love and appreciate you more than words can ever say. your faith and devotion to our family is the greatest gift, and you look so good in the process ;)

the girls, meme & i leave tomorrow to visit great gramma helen for spring break. it's quite the endeavor- a flight followed by a 2.5 hour drive to her small town in the blue ridge mountains. now that we're packed [no easy feat], we're ready to roll. we'll miss jon's actual birthday, but i have a hunch he'll be just fine hanging at the college basketball tournaments & coming home to a peaceful house!

it was quite the week around here! 4 birthday celebrations, seuss week at preschool, dance classes, haircuts, a snow day, a set of lost car keys, kindergarten roundup, daddy daughter dance for miss eloise, theatre in the park callbacks for lucy & the eric church concert last night! 

thankful for our village of friends & family, our health this winter, and spring break on the horizon!

another week, another 3 days off from school! president's day, teacher in-service & a snow day- we have had a lot of extra time together this winter & i am extra thankful. 

bonding & bickering all winter long :)

we spent the snow day prepping for seuss week at preschool next week- eloise gets to bring snack & is super duper particular on how this is going to go ;)

the girls had dance watch week, lucy and her basketball team earned their medals for the season [lucy has absolutely loved playing basketball this year... like, really really loves it!] & then she turned right around & auditioned for theatre in the park! it was a nerve-wracking & exciting experience, and i am so so so proud of the courage & preparation she displayed.

& i snuck in a date with my mom. one of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon!

our week was filled with sour candy hearts, glitter on every surface, 4 dozen roses from daddy [a dozen per girl- that's a lot of roses!] & so much love!! we really enjoyed valentine's day this year- it  ranks right up there with christmas for our chocolate-loving littles!

eloise's newest pair of glasses arrived this week [periwinkle glitter that she was so pleased to choose!] & 12 hours later, were smashed on the hallway floor from me stepping on them. she was so flexible & sweet, choosing the lavender replacement option the eye doctor had in store. as long as her glasses have glitter frames, she's pretty much the happiest camper ever!

kindergarten school work :)

the girls received their annual valentine's $5 bills from great gramma helen. what i imagined would be a 30 minute trip to claire's, ended up a full 2 hour endeavor.
