we're on the less than one month countdown to summer break! i can't wait for summertime with our girls. we spent easter break from school doing all the things- playdates, the farmstead, swimming, egg hunting and dyeing and celebrating easter together. lucy loved getting to record a song with her performance troupe, and we're all grateful for a week of free evenings with dance on its second spring break.

this weekend we celebrate eloise's first communion, and per her request, she and i are making my granny's strawberry cake for the special day.

easter weekend is here! we're excited to dye eggs with cousins tomorrow and spend lots of together time over the next few days. 

it's been a busy week with the whole spectrum of emotions. the girls are prepping for their dance recital at the end of may, eloise's first holy communion is next weekend, and we're anchoring down our summer schedule. betsy will have swim team 5 mornings each week, lucy has volleyball camp with friends and leveled up in her dance classes which means more options of jazz classes that she's itching to start, and eloise is taking the summer to swim, read and attend cooking camp with lucy. lucy and betsy auditioned for our local community outdoor theatre [where she performed in 'oz' summer 2019], and betsy was just beyond to receive a callback! lucy had some heartache in not getting called back... and it was the first of many "tween" conversations in regards to theatre. she's no longer a little kid, but she's also not quite to the young teen/older tween category, and being stuck in the middle often means years of few theatre opportunities, but more opportunities to train. such valuable, life-long lessons for her. she's focusing her heart on another audition that's around the corner, and she spent the week honing in on her skills of not comparing herself to anyone else- a priceless lesson that isn't easy, but is completely necessary for your child to experience.

we're kicking off the weekend with a trip to the farmstead and gratitude for spring temps!

april-may is always one of the busiest seasons of the year- wrapping up school, prepping for summer camps, classes, activities and trips, recital just around the corner... add in me getting in a second car wreck in 8 months while trying to avoid a squirrel in our cul-de-sac, and life is just never boring around here!

warmer days are on their way!
