beatrice is TWO!

in the blink of an eye, our sweetest betsy girl is two! it's crazy, overwhelming and exciting all at once :)

we celebrated our family's cherry on top with a cherry on top cupcake celebration! she had the absolute best day- sweet & simple with our family & dearest friends. 

& somehow daddy escaped almost all photos!? he played the videographer today ;)

bea chose purple eggs & green pancakes to start the morning off right!

thank you to our friends & family for joining in celebrating our special little girl :)

we love you SO much betsy and absolutely cannot imagine life without your spunky spirit & sweetest snuggles!

happy little snaps from lately :)

this big girl who asks questions like "who's in front of traffic & why are they driving so slow?" is all registered for kindergarten & i'm not sure how i feel about it. so so so bittersweet.

lucy lost a tooth & betsy learned how to use the potty, so daddy & i decided that eloise needed some love, too!

[also, we've been so focused on avoiding accidents with bea that you'll notice a major absence in her photo visibility this week ;)]

eloise has been asking to get her ears pierced for months & we decided that the day had finally arrived! not one tear was shed- she was so brave & proud! & was set on the sparkly ladybug earrings the second she laid eyes on them :) lucy was literally squealing with excitement for eloise & proved a strong moral support. she told eloise that she was going to write down notes about just how brave eloise was!

& today, i was so lucky to get to take eloise for a brunch date- coffee & cocoa! we followed it with a trip to the dollar tree where she spent 30 minutes before finally deciding a little mermaid yo-yo :)

5 different color selections- decisions, decisions :)

last night, while tucking lucy in for bed she told me, "mom, here's what's NOT my style: no shoes, gray shirt, crazy hair. here's what IS my style: fancy shoes, fancy dinner dress, fancy bow!"

oh, how i adore these little women!

hello 2018!

lucy lost her very first tooth! [to be specific, daddy pulled it out after it had been hanging by a thread for days ;)] it was the same tooth that was her first to come in at 6 months old :) 

we read her beloved tooth fairy book [that inspired her 2016 halloween costume], set up her fairy door & drifted to sleep with the sweetest of dreams. she was beside herself to wake up to 2 coins & a stick of gum!

& we're wrapping up day 3 of teaching bea to use the potty! she has been our most enthusiastic pottier and just like that, we've closed our family's 5.5 year streak of diapers & nursing <3

i did the work at home with betsy, and over the past 3 days, jon has taken the big girls swimming, shopping, bowling, to the movies... the list goes on ;)

grateful for the fresh start of a new year- the ending of a chapter & the start of a new one.
